Our School - About Our School

North Tom Price Primary School is an Independent Public School located in the picturesque Pilbara town of Tom Price, in close proximity to the majestic beauty and splendour of Karijini National Park and the rolling spinifex covered hills of the Hamersley Ranges. The school was established in 1978 to cater for the burgeoning mining industry that dominates Tom Price and the Pilbara. A feature of the school is its reputation as a warm, welcoming and friendly community orientated school, where inclusivity and social responsibility is regarded as important.

North Tom Price Primary School currently caters for approximately 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The teaching staff is a blend of experience and youth that creates an environment of collaboration, sharing, support and excellence. Teachers regard the school as a highly desirable location with many having taught at the school for an extended period of time. All teachers encourage students to celebrate academic, physical, artistic and social success. We foster an extended family environment where emphasis is placed upon critical thinking, respectful attitudes and success for everyone.

The school actively promotes and encourages parent involvement and participation in the school. The P&C is very active and provides outstanding support to the teaching and learning programs at the school. The school also prides itself on the social and civic responsibility demonstrated by the students. Many fundraising events are organised throughout the year to support worthwhile charities and events by the students. These events, combined with our many assemblies, carnivals, open days and nights, graduations and end of year concert sees the majority of our parents and families join and support the school throughout the year.
